Nephrology

Nephrology is the branch of medicine dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of diseases of the kidneys and the urinary system, including chronic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, kidney infections, water and electrolyte imbalances, and renal hypertension.

Nephrology consultations are important for the early detection of kidney conditions, many of which progress without obvious symptoms in the early stages. A medical assessment is recommended in the event of lower back pain, swelling of the legs or face, changes in urination, high blood pressure or abnormalities detected in blood and urine tests.

During the consultation, the specialist carries out a clinical assessment, recommends the necessary investigations — including laboratory tests and a renal ultrasound scan — and draws up a personalised treatment and monitoring plan. Early diagnosis and regular monitoring help to slow the progression of kidney disease, prevent complications and maintain kidney function.

The center operates:

  • Ciolpan Irina – a specialist in nephrology, with over 7 years’ professional experience in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of kidney diseases.

  • Vizitiv Maria – a nephrologist with 47 years’ professional experience and advanced qualifications, specialising in the care of patients with kidney conditions.
